Beyond the Grind: Recognizing Persistent Sleep Issues

If your exhaustion persists despite weekends or days off, or if it significantly interferes with your ability to function at work or home, it is time to stop looking for a "better" exercise routine and instead seek professional medical evaluation. While lifestyle adjustments can support sleep, they are not a substitute for medical care when you are dealing with chronic fatigue.
Recognizing the line between fatigue and exhaustion
It is common for working adults to feel tired after a long week of commuting, desk work, and household responsibilities. This type of "workweek fatigue" often improves with a restful weekend, a consistent sleep schedule, or a reduction in immediate stressors.
Concerning exhaustion, however, is different. It is persistent and does not resolve with standard rest. If you find that you are unable to complete daily tasks, experience persistent brain fog, or feel that your energy levels are consistently lower than what you consider your baseline, you may be dealing with something that requires a doctor's input. The goal is to move away from the idea that you can "push through" this state. Trying to force your body into a high-intensity yoga session or a strict fitness routine when you are genuinely burnt out can be counterproductive and may even worsen your recovery.
